CYA U16: Grace Kedziora
The Chicago Young Americans are excited to announce their 4th NCAA college commit of the season. Goaltender Grace Kedziora has committed to play NCAA Hockey at Brown University for the 2021-22 season. Kedziora will be joining 2 CYA Alums, Hayley Kliczko and Shay Maloney, both who will be in their senior year when she arrives. “Grace is the perfect example of not letting all the noise around you get in the way of reaching your goal,” Cimba commented. “Grace spent this past summer determined to elevate her game. Her increased focus on off ice conditioning combined with targeted goalie training to better her craft has directly resulted in Graces’ game rising to a new level. We couldn’t be more excited for her.”
Kedziora is yet another development success story for CYA goalies. “It has been so much fun watching her develop into the player she is today,” said CYA’s head goalie coach Sanya Sandahl. “I have watched Grace grow into an athlete who takes nothing for granted and she is aware that the hard work is just beginning.”
“Brown has been my dream school for years,” said Kedziora. “I am so excited to have the opportunity to be a student athletes at one of the best colleges in the nation. I want to thank my parents. I think being the parent of a goalie has to be one of the most stressful things, but you always appear to be so cool and just let me figure things out. I never could have reached my dream without your support. I also want to thank my teammates for giving me yet another reason to want to come to the rink everyday. Your support and friendship is what’s always kept me smiling and motivated to bring my best. Lastly, I want to thank coach Sanya. You always believed in me and helped me keep everything in perspective. To look at the game one period at a time and not get too far ahead of myself.”
The CYA U16 team schedule is just starting to ramp up. Grace is expected to play a key part in it’s success this season.
