CYA U19: Kate Pohl
The Chicago Young Americans are proud to announce Kate Pohl’s commitment to play NCAA Hockey at Amherst College. Amherst is located in Amherst, MA and plays in the highly competitive and prestigious NESCAC. “We are so excited for KP and knew since U12 that she was destined for great things,” commented Cimba. “Her speed, IQ and extremely high compete level will transition beautifully to the college game. We’re leaning on her big time this season and know she is up for the challenge.” Pohl was very selective about the type of school she wanted. Amherst is perennially ranked 1st or 2nd among National Liberal Arts Colleges in the US by the various collegiate ranking publications, in addition to having great hockey.
“I am so excited to be able to attend such an extraordinary school as Amherst. From the first time I visited, I loved everything about the school, the campus, and the team. Coach Matthews has built one of the top programs in the country, with a great culture, and I can’t wait to play there. I am so thankful to my family, who encouraged me every day and supported my dream to play high level hockey in college, as well as challenge myself to the fullest academically,” said Pohl. “I also want to thank my teammates, and Coaches Cimba and Sanya. I will always cherish the friendships I have made over my many years at CYA, and am looking forward to continuing to work and compete hard this year.” The U19’s are just getting started and Pohl’s high tempo game will play a huge factor in this season's success.
We are so excited and proud of you KP!!!
