CYA U19: Emma Katzman

CYA is proud to announce that U19 Sophomore forward Emma Katzman has committed to play Division 1 hockey at Dartmouth for the 2019-20 season. The Big Green play their games in the highly competitive ECAC hockey conference, known to be one of the strongest leagues in the country. They are coached by Laura Schuler who is in her first year at the helm.  Katzman is the first CYA player to be selected by the Big Green, signs that Schuler and her staff are are focused on bringing great things their way.  “We are so excited for Kat, Dartmouth is a first for us,” commented Cimba. “Just in speaking with their coaches I know Kat will fit right in with their philosophy of speed and hard work. She brings intensity every day to games and practices and she’s going to have a great career on and off the ice. On a personal note I am very excited for the entire Katzman family,” The first year U19 gritty forward has been a spark plug for CYA this season and has earned everything she has received along the way. "I am so excited about the opportunity I have at Dartmouth both on the ice and in the classroom. It has always been a dream to play college hockey now I get to do it at a place with a great tradition, great facilities and an unreal coaching staff,” said Emma. “I knew in my gut after seeing the school and spending time with Coaches Schuler and Cobb that this was the place for me. I would like to thank CYA for getting me to the next level and working hard for me to find the right fit. I also know couldn’t have found my way on this crazy ride, if I didn’t have the support of my team and to all of you thanks for being there for me. Finally and most important, I would like to give a very s special thank you to my family who has supported me through this journey every step of the way.  From the craziness of our season travel, the opportunity to play in Europe and to multiple college visits you came to, without that support it would have been hard to make my dream come true. I am so excited and ready to spend the next two and a half seasons focusing on getting ready for that jump, both on the ice and in the classroom.” Emma is CYA’s seventh college commitment of the season.

Way to got Kat!!!
