CYA Announces Hockey Leadership

Palatine, IL. – The Chicago Young American (CYA) Amateur Hockey Association has announced a leadership change that will go into effect today, October 2nd, 2020. Mark Jalcovik has been named the organization’s new President, Anthony Noreen has been named CYA’s President of Hockey Operations, and Ryan Ward is now CYA’s Hockey Director.
Mark Jalcovik has been instrumental in the development of Orbit Ice Arena and currently serves as the President of Business Operations for the Tri-City Storm (USHL). Jalcovik’s played four seasons for the Wisconsin-Eau Claire Blugolds (NCAA DIII) and brings a wealth of hockey knowledge to the organization.
Anthony Noreen is currently the President of Hockey Operations & Head Coach of the USHL’s Tri-City Storm. Noreen is a two-time Anderson Cup Champion and two-time USHL Coach of the Year. Noreen also has won a gold medal as the Head Coach for Team USA in the World Jr. A Challenge.
Ryan Ward is currently the Director of Player Development for the Tri-City Storm (USHL). Previously, Ward was an Assistant Coach for the San Antonio Rampage, the AHL affiliate of the St. Louis Blues. Ward served as Assistant Coach for the Soo Greyhounds of the OHL from 2016-2018.
This is an exciting time for CYA as our new board is committed to creating a development program that is second to none. As we transition to this new era of CYA Hockey we are fully committed to developing athletes on and off of the ice with a year-round, full-service program. When people leave the Chicago Young Americans they will be prepared as people not just for hockey but to be a positive contributor to society. The Chicago Young Americans play at the Orbit Ice Arena in Palatine, IL which is owned and operated by Dave Vennetti.
