CYA is excited to announce that U19 Defenseman Addie Carr has committed to play NCAA D1 Hockey at RIT for the 2021-22 Season. The RIT Tigers are located in Rochester, NY and play in the competitive CHA with home games in the beautiful Gene Polisseni Center. “I can’t tell you how excited we all are for Addie,” commented Cimba. “Especially during these crazy times. Addie is proof how hard work and not losing sight of your goals can pay off. Everyone’s journey is different, they all have their ups and downs and Addie’s was no different. I am so proud of how she just owned it. Coach Brown got a good one in Addie.”
“There’s no doubt this has been a long road, but looking back I learned so much,” said Carr. “Not just about the game, but about myself and what it truly takes to get what you want. It’s so much more then just wanting it, it’s about surrounding yourself with others who not only want it equally, but who also support you at every turn. I can’t thank CYA enough. I also want to thank my teammates – lifelong friends. Most importantly I want to thank my parents who never doubted me. Who picked me up when I was down, who kicked me in the butt when I needed it and most importantly, who made sure I never lost sight of the fact that this game is fun and when you’re having fun great things can happen.”
CYA will be leaning heavily on Addie this coming season. We have started the season off late, like so many others, but have hit the ground running, having joined the MN Elite League. We will continue to use video and focus as hard as ever on helping our players reach their dreams to play NCAA Hockey.
