CYA U19: Kylie Makuh
The Chicago Young Americans are proud to announce that Kylie Makuh has committed to Colby College for the fall of 2020. The Sr. forward started her career at CYA as a U12 and this season, in 57 games has scored 21 goals and dished out 14 assists.
“Every player has their own unique journey and Makuh’s was no different,” said Cimba “It was like a light bulb went off in her head and suddenly the understanding of what it takes, combined with a new found level of work, all came together. It was so amazing to watch. Then she discovered Colby and everything went up another level. The work she put in both in the classroom and on the ice was surreal to watch. We are so proud of you “Kyle”. You are NCAA ready and I know you’re going to tear it up in the NECAC’s.”
“I think I’m still in shock,” commented Kylie. “Colby is everything I could wish for in a college. The extra work I had to put in to make this all happen, as hard as it was, was worth every ounce of both sweat and tears. This entire process has helped me believe that hard work combined with a passion for what you do, can be an unstoppable combination. I never could have done any of this without the unwavering support from my parents. You were my kick in the butt and my shoulder to cry on throughout this journey. I also want to thank everyone on this years CYA U19 team. You are the greatest group of people I could ever have imagined spending my Sr year with. Teammates this season but friends for life.”
Kylie and the CYA U19’s are starting their push for a trip to Nationals, with State gearing up. Kylie will be leaned on heavily down the stretch.
We are all so proud of you Kylie!!!
