CYA U19 Kennedy Stein
The Chicago Young Americans are proud to announce that U19 Forward Kennedy Stein has committed to play NCAA Hockey at Augsburg University. Augsburg is in the highly competitive MIAC and plays their home games in the Augsburg Ice Arena, located on campus in downtown Minneapolis.
"From the moment Stein stepped foot in our house, we knew we had a very special player,” commented Cimba. “There are certain players that just get it; Get that it's hard work. Get that sometimes you have to work your way up the roster. Get that the attitude you bring on the bench also translates onto the ice. Gets that respect is earned and not just given.Stein understands all of this and so much more. We couldn’t be more excited proud of her.”
Kennedy will be joining teammate Alex Collins and CYA Alum McKenna Ellena at Auggie next season.
“I couldn’t be more excited about my decision to be a student athlete at Augsburg” said Kennedy. “For the longest time, I wasn’t sure what I was looking for, but the combination of the school, its location and the feeling I got spending time with Coach Mac, Coach Holmes and the entire hockey team is what put Auggie at the top of my list. First and foremost, I want to thank my parents. I know I didn’t make the process easy, but you never wavered in your support and you let me make a decision that was right for me. I also want thank my CYA teammates. You make it exciting to come to the rink every day. You will always be family to me.”
The U19’s are heading into a nice home town stretch in their schedule, and Kennedy will be called upon to log some big minutes for the team as they look to do some damage.
Way to go Stein!!
