CYA U16: Avery Henry
CYA is proud to announce their third college commit of the season. Avery Henry has committed to play college hockey at the University of Toronto for the 2018/19 season. U of T plays in the highly skilled CIS (Canadian Interuniversity Sport) and is academically the 16th ranked school in the world. “Having been raised in Toronto, this commitment has a very special meaning for me,” said Cimba. “There are very few places that you can bring both world class sports and academics together. Avery has found one of those places. She has challenged herself last year and this off season to be the best she could be, and it really showed. She has the ability to be a top end play maker and the Varsity Blues have picked up on that, Coach Sunohara grabbed a good one.” Henry will be called upon to help lead this years CYA U16 team both on and off the ice this season. “Having roots back in Canada only makes this that much more exciting for me and I know my parents are thrilled too,” commented Henry "I want to thank all the coaches at CYA who have helped me develop and grow as a player and as a person this past year. I would like to thank all of my teammates for pushing me to improve my game and for also being some of the best friends I have ever had. I am so grateful for all the love and support I have received at CYA. Most importantly, I would like to thank my parents for all the support and dedication they have shown me. They have sacrificed so much time and energy so that I could play hockey, and I know that I would not have been able to do this without them."
We are all very proud of you.
