CYA U16: Anne Bloomer
CYA is proud to announce that U16 forward Anne Bloomer has set her sights to play hockey at Harvard University for the 2018-2019 season. A strong offensive forward, Bloomer helps lead a very young and talented U16 team this season. Harvard currently ranks among the top college teams in the National polls and is led by former Olympic Head Coach Katey Stone.
“From the time I coached and got to know ‘Bloom’ at U14, I knew she was a dedicated player,” commented Cimba. “But the hard work she put in since then, both on and off the ice, has taken her game to the next level this season and she was noticed by many NCAA programs. Athletically and academically, her no-nonsense, all business work ethic will serve her well at the next level. I look forward to watching her develop and grow as a player over the next couple of seasons.”
“The decision process took some time but I enjoyed meeting so many great coaches at so many amazing programs, and I am very grateful to them. I learned through the process that Harvard is the right place for me. Although this is a great opportunity, it is just the first step,” said Anne. “I am fortunate to have a family who supports me and my goals. I am also very lucky to have the support of CYA and all of my teammates and coaches. I love my team and I want to work as hard as I can for it.”
Bloom’s immediate focus is on continuing a strong finish with her teammates as they set their sights on a National Championship.
