CYA U19: Hayley Kliczko
CYA is excited to announce another college commitment. Junior goaltender, Hayley Kliczko, will be heading to Providence, RI to play Division 1 hockey at Brown University in the 2017/18 Season. Kliczko has been a big part of the CYA family, having started with the program as a first year U12 goalie. Her career so far includes 2 Bronze, 1 Silver and 1 Gold Medal at the USA Hockey National Championships and now an Ivy League commitment to play College Hockey. “Hayley is truly a special person, both on and off the ice,” commented Cimba. “Not only has she made the cut every year for USA Hockey’s National Development Camp, but she’s also one of the most sincere individuals I’ve had the opportunity to coach. Brown is getting not only a great Tender in Hayley but also an unreal teammate.”
“I’m so proud of Hayley and the effort she’s put forward all season to reach this goal,” commented CYA Head Goalie Coach Sanya Sandahl. “Hayley has improved tremendously over the course of the season and I know there’s still great upside to her game. Hayley’s work ethic is what will get her there.”
“I knew I wanted to go to Brown the moment I stepped on to the campus and met Coach Kenneally. I really connected with him and fell in love with the school,” said Kliczko. “The combination of being an Ivy, offering Engineering and a chance to play Division 1 hockey is a dream come true. I want to thank CYA for being a big part of my life these past 5 years and most importantly, I want to thank my family. None of this could have ever been made possible without their support. It’s hard enough being the parent of a hockey player, but being the parent of a goalie brings a whole other level of dedication.” Kliczko’s job at CYA is not done yet, as she prepares for another run at the National Championship this coming season.
We are all so proud of you Hayley – Congrats!
